Naxco Belgium renews FORWARD Goals GOLD label for 2026–2028
Naxco Belgium has renewed its FORWARD Goals for Sustainable Development GOLD label for 2026–2028. Following a positive reassessment by FORWARD Belgium, this recognition confirms our continued commitment to taking concrete action towards a more sustainable logistics sector.
For us, this renewal is also an opportunity to explain what the label represents, and why investing in people, knowledge and cooperation is an essential part of building the logistics sector’s future.
What does the GOLD label stand for?
The FORWARD Goals programme translates the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals into practical action for freight forwarding and logistics businesses.
The standard label requires at least five separate, unrelated sustainability actions, covering at least two of the framework’s five dimensions: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership. GOLD recognition requires a total of ten separate actions.
Initiatives should preferably be local.
Our renewed GOLD recognition reflects practical initiatives across nine SDGs. These include ergonomic workspaces and employee wellbeing, training and educational partnerships, equal pay and non-discrimination policies, and support for employees returning after long-term illness. We have also expanded charging facilities, invested in an electric forklift and LED lighting, encouraged sustainable commuting and introduced everyday measures to reduce waste and promote responsible purchasing.
Investing in the people behind logistics
Sustainability in logistics also means developing the knowledge and skills that the sector will need in the years ahead.
This is an area in which Naxco Belgium has already received specific recognition. In 2024, alongside the GOLD label, we received the FORWARD Goals Award for our longstanding engagement with young people and education.
FORWARD Belgium highlighted our involvement in workplace learning with AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts and KdG, the opportunities we provided for student internships, and our openness to supporting teachers through Train the Trainer programmes.
Bringing education and business closer together helps students understand how international logistics works in practice. It also gives teachers access to operational experience they can bring into the classroom.
Continuing the work
The renewed GOLD label is a milestone in an ongoing commitment. It encourages us to keep examining how we work, share our experience and build meaningful relationships with the people and organisations around us.
We thank our colleagues and educational partners for their contribution, and FORWARD Belgium for the renewed recognition.
